Marina overview

Wharf Street Marina is part of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority marina facilities along the downtown Victoria waterfront. The docks run beneath the historic Wharf Street seawall, right below the shops, cafés, and heritage buildings of Old Town and Bastion Square.

This location makes Wharf Street a natural choice for visiting boaters who want moorage that feels like street level with the downtown core. The GVHA operates several linked Inner Harbour marinas, and it coordinates dock assignments and vessel handling across the network.

Location and boating area

Wharf Street sits on the eastern side of Victoria Harbour, between the Johnson Street Bridge to the north and the Causeway area to the south. Boaters approaching from the outer harbour pass Fisherman's Wharf, Shoal Point, and the float-plane operating area before reaching the downtown docks.

The Inner Harbour is a Transport Canada water aerodrome and a shared traffic environment with harbour ferries, whale-watching vessels, and commercial craft. Boaters should review the Victoria Harbour Traffic Scheme, applicable Notices to Mariners, tide and current predictions, and current weather. Local conditions are available on our marine weather page, and general practice is covered in boating safety.
