About Fisherman's Wharf Marina

A working GVHA harbour marina west of downtown, home to Victoria's colourful float-home community, fishing fleet, and the well-known food kiosks at Fisherman's Wharf Park. Transient moorage is offered when space allows; the site is popular with visiting boaters who want a quieter alternative to Causeway.

Marina overview

Fisherman's Wharf Marina is one of the best-known destinations in Victoria's Inner Harbour. It operates as part of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority marina network. It combines commercial fishing berths, transient recreational moorage, and the well-known float-home community and food kiosks along the pier.

For visiting boaters, Fisherman's Wharf is often as much a destination as a moorage. It is a short walk from downtown Victoria, the James Bay neighbourhood, and Ogden Point. It is also a common stop for anyone cruising into Victoria from Vancouver, the San Juan Islands, or the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Location and boating area

The wharf sits on the north side of the Inner Harbour, west of the Causeway and downtown Victoria. Boaters entering the harbour from Ogden Point and the outer waters pass through the active traffic zone shared with float planes, harbour ferries, and whale-watching vessels before they reach Fisherman's Wharf.

Check the Victoria Harbour Traffic Scheme, current Notices to Mariners, tide and current predictions, and up-to-date weather before you enter. Local weather is available on our live marine weather page, and general precautions are described in boating safety.

Planning a visit

Fisherman's Wharf is popular and combines several types of vessel traffic. Boaters should confirm transient moorage availability, reservation policy, vessel-size limits, check-in procedures, shore power, potable water, waste and pump-out access, parking, and gate hours directly with the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority before they travel.
